Stressful Granny Squares.

Okay, so I decided that I will eventually make an afghan made of all different sized and colored granny squares. Here is my dilemma: I suck a granny squares. Seriously. I mean, generally, they turn out okay at the end, but the center DC’s are never as defined as I like. I don’t know if I am just a tight crocheter (a great possibility) or what, but I am going berserk. Granted, it might not be my crocheting skills at all, but the “cheap” (crafting on a budget sucks) yarn I decided to use; nevertheless, it is frustrating me.
Just thought I would share and beg for tips on making good granny squares.

I’ve read that turning the granny square at each round makes the sections line up well.
Make sure that you have ch-2 spaces in the corners and ch-1 spaces in the round. Too many chains can make it look loose and what I would consider ‘less defined’.
I like to magic ring the center, also.
Cheap yarn isn’t as nice to work with but should be fine in a granny square.
